JMHC Brand is Hiring a Clinical Team Leader Near Madison, WI

The Clinical Team Leader of the Crisis Unit assists the Clinical Manager of Emergency Services Unit with programmatic and clinical activities of the crisis team. Primary duties include clinical supervision to a multidisciplinary team of designated crisis staff, staff performance evaluations, regular attendance, and participation in committees as assigned and clinical consultation for all Emergency Services Unit programs. The Clinical Team Leader is responsible for representing the Crisis Unit in a professional and collaborative manner during all of their interactions with colleagues and collaborating agencies. The person in this position will work with the Clinical Manager to ensure that the unit maintains a balanced budget, accurate data collection, and other clinical and financial obligations outlined in the contracts and MOUs ESU programs have with other agencies and funding sources. The Clinical Team Leader will be responsible for providing oversight of the unit when the Clinical Manager is unavailable. The clinical annual service hour requirement is 360.

The Emergency Services Unit operates 24/7, 365 days/per year. The individual in this position must be willing and available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. The individual must also be comfortable with providing services in a variety of settings such as hospitals, homes, jail and with law enforcement.

QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL

Education/Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related behavioral health field is required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3 years of experience working within the mental health field.
  • Candidate must meet relevant state licensing requirements for billable services and clinical supervision for psychotherapy and/or substance use services.

RESPONSIBLITIES

A. Clinical Supervision

  1. Provide clinical consultation, review, and oversight to clinical team members to assure the clinical and cultural sensitivity goals for all supervisees are met on an annual and as needed basis.
  2. Complete performance evaluations, provide regular clinical supervision and approve timecards for supervisees.
  3. Complete appropriate clinical charting procedures that ensure the program is in compliance with JMHC, county and state guidelines and mandates. Review supervisees’ documentation for accuracy and timely completion.
  4. Assist in facilitating the coordination of the program’s clinical services with other programs and outside agencies. Provide problem resolution around system issues, clinical issues, cultural sensitivity, consumer grievances and complex cases.

B. Administrative Leadership

  1. Participate through a leadership lens in staff meetings, JMHC committees, training programs and other designated functions as well as assist the development of new programming.
  2. Assist the clinical manager in recruiting, hiring, training and evaluation of new staff, students, and volunteers.
  3. Provide trainings to other JMHC programs as well as outside agencies.
  4. Approve and monitor scheduling, time off requests, training requests and other aspects of each team member.
  5. Participate in meetings and projects as assigned by the clinical manager.

C. Provision of Clinical Services 

  1. Provide a range of clinical services including risk assessments, crisis planning, emergency detentions and hospital gate-keeping activities. These services will be done in a context that is supportive of the client’s culture, values, and perspectives.
  2. Complete accurate clinical records for all activities in a timely manner.
  3. Attend weekly staffing, consultations, and other clinical meetings as assigned.

D. Duties Specific to Clinical Team Leader

  1. Take lead in rolling out EHR related changes and complete a variety of chart audits.
  2. Ensure response plans and crisis plans are up to date and that the training manual is regularly updated to reflect accurate procedures and resources.
  3. Keep track of staff’s training and cultural competency requirements.
  4. Monitor and ensure staff service expectations.
  5. Work closely with Emergency Services Unit Director to ensure DHS 34 requirements are met.
  6. Coordinate with PSS to ensure office related concerns (i.e. maintenance requests) are appropriately streamlined and staff are updated.
  7. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the clinical manager.
